September 7, 2007 Friday afternoon and we are now at Vacationland R.V. Park in Brackley Beach, still on P.E.I. This place is about 45 min. from where we were and puts us closer to the Ferry for when we leave here and go to Nova Scotia, in about 4 days.
I ended, the last blog, with us arriving at the Twin Shores RV park on Tuesday night. Wednesday morning it was raining and raining, after all the nice weather we had been having. About 11am it had quit raining and we decided to go tour around. We stopped and toured the Museum of Anne of Green Gables, then we went to lunch at Carrs Oyster Bar, then to the Haunted House, pretty cute. For dinner we went to St. Ann's Church Lobster Supper, 5 course meal, but the service or cooks were very slow and we had to hurry and rush through dinner. We had to hurry to get to the play/musical in time which started at 8pm, it was "Anne & Gilbert The Musical" Which was about Anne of Green Gables in love, very famous person around here from all the books. Great songs, music and story, everything was quite good.
Thursday we did a driving tour and made a few stops on the way. Now don't get jealous but we saw the PEI Potato Museum, it was very interesting, then we stopped at the MacAusland's Woollen Mills, now this was very good it was a self guided tour of the yarn, wool ect being made. Plus we even saw the fresh stuff just shaven off the sheep that had to be washed, brushed, washed again and so on and so on, believe it or not it was interesting to see. On the way back home we stopped at a quilt shop, nice stuff but very expensive, a couple of the ones I liked were 1K to 2K, the store said they had quilts from $300 to $3,000 I never saw the $300 dollar ones. When we got back to the coaches it was too windy to BBQ so we all just went back to our coaches and relaxed and ate in.
Today, we got back on the road again. On the way to this RV Park we stopped and got some home made bread then stopped at Carrs for some mussels to steam. We got 10.5 pounds of mussels for 13.00, hell of a bargain plus a cheap meal for 4 of us. Lee cooked a little over half of the mussels so we will get another dinner out of it, right on love mussels. While we were eating dinner tonight, after driving around Charlottetown checking things out, the mosquitoes came out and they ate Lee and Dave a live, normally it's me and Vicki, will know for sure tomorrow but Dave said he had welts on his legs and I could see the welts on Lee's head. After dinner we got all caught up on Big Brother.
Tomorrow we plan on going to Charlottetown again and going to the Farmers Market then if the weather is good we are going bike riding on Federation Trail, or Confederation Trail, not sure of the name, then maybe go hit some golf balls.
