7/13/10 Update Time Happy Birthday Mike

1st "HAPPY BIRTHDAY" to my brother Mike, 62 years young.
Not a lot going on, just been hanging out in Mount Vernon, WA. This past weekend we were at the Highland Games & Celtic Festival. It was fun watching the Sheepdog competitions, they each had 4 sheep to work with and had to chase them through obstacles. Boy those dogs are well trained. We also enjoyed watching the athletic events, pipe band competition, fiddler's and just over all the whole thing. The weather was perfect both days, I got burnt to a crisp.
For the 4th of July we went to Kelli's parents house for a BBQ, right on the water, Kelli's sisters/spouses where there it was fun.
Tuesday went to the doctors for another complete blood test, not like last time when they just checked the calcium level. (the doctor in Arizona advised us to do this) They gave me papers on Hyperparathyroidism to read up on. Friday we checked out of 1000 Trails and moved to an RV Park, with full hookups, to wait to get all the results. The blood test came back Friday afternoon and they faxed the results to us and to the doctor in Arizona. I called the office in Arizona and left a message to have the doctor call me. Monday the pee test came back in the A.M. and we called the doctor again to see if she wanted anymore test done. When Dave talked to the girl in the office she had the faxed test results in hand and promised to have the doctor call us. Well that never happened, so if we don't hear anything this morning we are getting back on the road. Will just have to wait until we get back to Arizona and do follow up then. It is probably nothing more then losing 50lbs would take care of. I don't really have any of the symptoms and my bone density test showed my bones were really strong, so like I said lose weight! Just the normal Tomaselli problem.
We did take 1 day and went into Seattle, another big city with tons of traffic. It was the 1st time we had been there when the sun was out. We walked around and checked out all the street vendors and of course walked around the Market Place. We had breakfast/lunch at a Guy Fieri's triple D's, Voulas Offshore Cafe, great food.

Miss Madison turned 2 on Friday, 7/9, and had her big birthday bash on Saturday, sorry we missed both.
HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY MISS MADISON.

Friday 6/25 through Friday 7/2

6/25 Friday
We made it to 1000 Trails Mount Vernon. After setting up we took off for town to check things out and try and find a visitor center. No luck on the visitors center so went by the Elk's Lodge to check it out. People there suggested we go to Deception Pass and told us about some of the local events that would be happening.
6/26 Saturday
We went driving around and found a visitor's center got all the brochures on places to see and things to do. Saturday night we went to Skagit Raceway and watched the Sportsman Sprints, Hornets, Demo Derby and even a Bus Jump Stunt Show. Once again, some of the people there very scary to look at. We got out about 10pm and of course my headlights quit working again. Thank goodness it doesn't really get dark until after 10. Luckily we were only 10min away from our campsite.
6/27 Sunday
Called Rob and Kelli and got their voice mail. We took off for Fairhaven, small town, parked and walked around the place. Later we took off for Bellingham, thought we would try and find Rob and Kelli's house. As we were driving around nothing was looking right then it hit Dave that they lived in Ferndale not Bwllingham. Jumped on the Freeway and drove to Ferndale and Dave remembered how to get to their house. Kelli had just got done grocery shopping so we helped bring in the groceries. Then we sat and visited for a few hours, it was really nice to see them again.
6/28 Monday
Did nothing but play on the computer and read our books, needed some down time. Made a doctor's appointment and found a place to have our awning fixed.
6/29 Tuesday
Took off for Deception Pass, what a nice drive there. Once there Dave took off for the bridge and I was standing around taking pictures and watching the canoe's. When I went to the bridge I stepped up and turned and saw a big rig coming. Which normally is no big deal but to get on the bridge the big rig turned a little too close and hit the curb and missed me by a little more then a foot. Scared the crap out of me and I got off the bridge and didn't get close to walking on it again. When Dave got back we headed for Oak Harbor and Coupeville and checked out those places.
6/30 Wednesday
We left early in the morning and drove the North Cascade Highway, what a drive. Beautiful scenery and lots of water falls, got all kinds of pictures. We ended up in Winthrop, boy it was a long drive. We thought when we leave here we might stop in Winthrop and stay overnight. We found 1 RV park, we would fit in and they are booked until after 7/11 we have to be out of 1000 Trails on the 9th. they told Dave about a Walmart about 30 more miles down the road. By the time we got back to the rig we had almost drove 300 miles that day.
7/1 Thursday
We took the rig in to have the awning fixed. We had to leave it for a few hours so we drove to Sedro Woolley, WA where they were having a chainsaw carving competition. These guys do amazing work with chainsaws, you will have to see the pictures once I get them posted. They had a quick carve which went from 10:30 to noon and they all had to provide something for the auction Friday night. We stayed the whole time and couldn't believe what everyone carved. At 1pm, awning all fixed, we picked up the RV and set up camp again.
That night we met Kelli and Rob for a nice sushi dinner, it was fun.
7/2 Friday
Since 1000 trails doesn't have RV dumps at their sites we needed to do laundry. Off to the laundromat, once done we headed back to Sedro Woolley again because today they were having Craft vendors and we wanted to see the wood carvers again. Friday night we met Kelli and Rob again for dinner and planned on getting together on Saturday to go to Sedro Woolley again because now they wanted to see all the wood carvings.
OK all caught up again, I know, boring stuff.
