We are now in Charleston, South Carolina in an RV Park called Oak Plantation. When we got here we found out that the girl Dave had talked to on Saturday lied to him. She said it was 1st come no reserving sites, wrong not on Holidays. The park is booked up for the Thanksgiving week starting on Wednesday except for 3 back-in sites. So we checked out the 3 sites and none of them could we get computer and only one we could get the TV satilite to work, but that site was so small that once the slideouts were out you would almost be touching your neighbors. We said to heck with it, we asked for a pull thru for 2 nights will leave here on Wednesday and head towards Orlando Florida. We had reservations at a Plantation for Thanksgiving dinner but now I guess we will be parked in a Wal-Mart, somewhere, and eat what ever food they serve there, you know McDonalds or Sub-Way who knows. Enough of crying the blues
just kidding, everything will be just fine. Anyway, once we finally got set up today we headed for the visitor center in Charleston. We got the self walking tour map and headed out for a 3 mile walk. The historical sites were great to see, and most now are owned by private residents. I give them credit for buying one of those houses or buildings because you can't do anything with the outside of your place without their (historical society) permission, and what ever you do has to not change how it looked over a 100 years ago. You can change the insides anyway you want but the outsides must stay original.
Tomorrow, we are doing the history thing again, I don't need Kool-Aid, I've had enough of a break, we will go to Fort Sumter and then touring around some Plantations. That's it for now. Happy Thanksgiving to everyone, just in case I don't write again before that.
