November 11, 2007 today is Valentine’s Birthday, she is 11 years old now, plus it is also Kim and Danny’s 1st anniversary of when Danny proposed to Kim. OK enough about the kids and dog. We leave tomorrow so last min. running around today.
I’m not writing every day now because we have slowed down on our touring around, we can finally relax in a spot and take our time seeing things, tour one day and relax the next.
Recap of the last week:
I last left off on Tuesday morning, kick back day rainy ect. In between the rain Valley and I managed to get in about 2.5 miles walking. Dave did planning on his computer and I played with stuff on mine, later on we went into Gloucester to Wal-mart and did some grocery shopping and also started doing Christmas shopping. We will be flying back for Christmas so the stuff we buy we will have to ship back to Kim’s before leaving Florida. When we got back to the coach the rain had stopped and the sun was out, seemed like a good time to shave Valley. Dave had purchased a shaver a couple weeks ago, so it was time to try it out, Valley’s hair had finally grown back in and she was shedding again in the coach. When Dave was done with her she looked like a corn field that had just been plowed, poor thing, but it works. So that was Tuesday.
Wednesday we headed for Yorktown, we first did the Victory Center, which is where we saw a film, but then still had a 40 minute wait for the Ranger tour, so we went ahead and did the Battlefield Drive. We rushed thru the drive because we wanted to make the Ranger talk and got back just in time. The Ranger was very informative and I must admit the history stuff is starting to sink into my brain, but that’s about it, after it sinks in it sinks right back out again. 
Thursday, when we got up at 6am it was 32 degrees, when Valley and I went for a walk at 7am it was 31 degrees, darn it was getting colder. Valley and I had to keep moving fast so we wouldn’t freeze. When the walk was done Dave and I watched some of the shows we have been recording for weeks. In the afternoon we drove to Urbanna, where the oyster festival was and that town cleans up real well. I was hoping to find a good seafood restaurant for some “She Crab Soup” but they were all closed. I guess after the festival the town closes up, the biggest crowd that we could see was at a pizza parlor, we weren’t interested. We went back to the RV and hung out.
Friday, we went to Williamsburg, the place is hugh and there is no way you can see everything in 1 day so we got a two day pass. We got a tour of the Governor’s Palace then listened to some play actors doing an exchange between them. It was Patrick Henry, who was Governor at that time of Virginia, Treasurer Mr. Nicholas and a Jr. Delegate Capt. Woods. Starting at 2:30pm they have play acting at different locations for the next 2 hours.
Saturday, raining in the morning but then cleared up so we took off for Williamsburg again. Did more touring around there for a few hours and then we both decided we have had enough history to last a life time. I told Dave the next place I’m going to is Jonestown to drink some Kool-Aid.
