Back in Bakersfield / Sad News about Valentine

We made it back to Bakersfield on Friday afternoon, hit a little wind on the drive but not bad at all. We stopped in Baker and had lunch at another of Guy Fieri's recommendation. The Mad Greek, good food worth stopping if you are on your way to or from Vegas.

When we got hooked up I started cleaning, boy was the place dirty. Dave took off to look to see if AK Pressure was around, they wash the RV's in the park. He was gone long enough that when he got back I was done cleaning, boy good planning Dave. :) He never found AK Pressure so called and we have an appointment for washing on Monday morning. The RV Park was just about full, another Rally going on, Alfa's and they are expecting about 120 rigs plus the 1st row, the pull-thru's, were full of RV's with trailers attached. Inside the trailers are Street Rods, big show at the Fair Grounds this weekend, 2000 street rods were suppose to be there, god knows where all the people stayed.

Saturday we went over to Kim and Danny's to start working on moving the storage sheds, I believe I mentioned before that Kim wants the 2 sheds gone and wants it all cement. When we got there Danny told me that Valley has been having accidents, bladder and bowel mishaps. It had happened a couple times before we left but was hoping it would clear up. Valley had moved back in with Kim a couple months ago because of the tumor on her leg. She could no longer get out of the RV. Anyway, in the last 2 days Valley had left a small bowel drop and Miss Madison stepped on it, can't have that because she grabs her feet and puts them in her mouth. The next day Danny got off the couch and Valley had just gotten up and there was a big puddle and of course Danny stepped in it, I just hope Danny doesn't still put his feet in his mouth. :) After hearing that I then noticed Valley get up and go to her pillow and start licking herself, there it was the puddle she left in the other room. She knows she does it and leaves right away to clean herself up. Needless to say after finishing moving 1 shed we left and took Valley with us and went straight to the vets. It was so hard because she still had so much life left in her but couldn't have her doing things like what she was doing in the house with Madison. She was also having some problems with the tumor in her nose and the tumor on her leg, I couldn't watch her suffer anymore. She was the best dog we have ever had and all day today I have been getting email's from friends who have met her and they were very sad to hear the news.

Today Dave, Danny and I got the other shed moved, so now we start on getting out the rest of the brick then get ready to pour cement. You know how it goes "What ever Kim wants, Kim gets". (from Damn Yankee's What ever Lola wants Lola gets)

Forgot to mention when we got to Kim and Danny's Miss Madison had a look like "who are these people" we were only gone 2 weeks. It didn't take her long to remember but what is going to happen once we move to Arizona, only time will tell.

Jeri, I'm so sorry to hear about Valley. I know how much you all loved her and what a big part of your family she was. Nobody wants to see a loved one sick and suffering though. Kim, tumor snot? Gross. As for Mady not recognizing you at first, I STRONGLY recommend that you guys get a webcam for when you move to AZ. It helps Inara know her Pop and NeeNee just as if she saw them weekly.
